I have managed to read this series in order, which adds to the enjoyment. Stephanie is a kinda crappy but very lucky female bounty hunter. She lives in New Jersey, like I do so I get to read about places I've actually been, which is nice. Stephanie had some crazy adventures as usual, but the surprise ending really got me. Like tears in my eyes, got me. It's a lighthearted mystery that managed to almost make me cry. Stephanie Plum just keeps getting better. After the cliffhanger in High Five, I had high expectations for book six, and it didn’t disappoint. Vinny gives Stephanie an ultimatum – find Ranger and bring him in for jumping bond …. or he’s giving the case to Joyce. And as much as Stephanie hates the latter, she knew she was not match for Ranger and passes. But when everything starts to go south and Ranger is no where around to defend her, Stephanie has to fight and capture her own guys. Morelli keeps hiding cases and information about Ranger from her, the tension in the triangle continues to grow, and Stephanie finds herself wondering what she’s really doing, going as far as picking up an application for McDonalds. The men in her life and running her ragged, new men keep popping up, she keeps getting shot at, and all the while trying to get her grandmother to move out of her house. Can’t wait for 7. The relationship between Cupcake and Morelli are getting serious. On top of everything, She gets tricked into caring for a dog. She still has bad car karma, and its still not her fault! Skips are still running away from her, bet eventually catches them. Ranger is still sexy. I love the Stephanie Plum Novels. I strongly recomend this series. I could not put this book down..I finished it in one sitting! This is airplane stuff....a quick fun/funny read. What a cast of characters!! ingen anmeldelser | legg inn en anmeldelse
Amazon.com (ISBN 0312976275, Mass Market Paperback)Never mind who did the deed with New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum at the end of High Five. Five months later, that night's only a dim, cherished memory, and Stephanie's freezing her butt off on a Trenton bridge trying to keep her friend Carol--caught shoplifting some crotchless panties she was too embarrassed to buy--from committing suicide.Truth is, I didn't for a minute think she'd jump. For one thing, she was wearing a four-hundred-dollar jacket from Wilson Leather. You just don't jump off a bridge in a four-hundred-dollar jacket. It isn't done. The jacket would get ruined. Carol was from the Chambersburg section of Trenton, just like me, and in the Burg you gave the jacket to your sister, then you jumped off the bridge. When Stephanie finally talks Carol down and makes it in to work at Vincent Plum Bail Bonds, it's only to find that her libido-boosting pal Ranger, the professional bounty hunter and sometime hit man, has disappeared. A building owned by black-market arms dealer Alexander Ramos has burned down, with Ramos's son Homer lying inside, dead from a gunshot wound. Ranger, who was caught on film there by video cameras, is wanted for questioning. Stephanie's boss Vinnie wants her to find him, but Stephanie, who knows she won't find Ranger if he doesn't want to be found, refuses. Soon everyone, from her cop boyfriend Joe Morelli to the two Laurel and Hardy wannabes who suddenly start following her around Trenton in a badass black Lincoln, thinks she's hot on Ranger's trail. And Stephanie's got other things to worry about. For one thing, Grandma Mazur's moved in with her, and so has Bob, a golden retriever who's only partly house trained. Then Ranger starts popping up at odd times of the night, with instructions for Stephanie to keep an eye on another Ramos son, Hannibal. Add to that one homicidal maniac, a couple more dead bodies, Stephanie's usual bad car karma, and the zit from hell, and you've got yourself one fine Stephanie Plum adventure. Will Stephanie triumph? You can bet a jelly doughnut on it. And there's another great cliffhanger waiting at the end. --Barrie Trinkle (hentet fra Amazon Fri, 24 Apr 2009 07:58:02 -0400) The first test round has been closed. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about Hot Six at first because I’m a Ranger fan and at the beginning he’s being accused of murder. Luckily, Ranger saved the day and restored my faith. He never lets me down.
I loved that Grandma Mazur moved in. She’s hilarious, always saying silly things. I can imagine her taking driving lessons, it’s kind of the same picture I see when I think of my brother driving. YIKES!
And what’s a good Stephanie novel without guns, fights and a little B&E? Action packed to say the least. Not to mention the gun cartel. Cartel’s always spice it up a notch. I can see Alexander Ramos running down the street with track suit on (all those guys wear track suits.)
Another book, something else I’m really liking. I think I’ve mentioned this before, but I love the endings. This is one you have to immediately start Seven Up to see what happened. Cliff hanger I think is the appropriate word. What will Miss Stephanie do? Say yes to the proposal? Dum Dum Dum Dum….. until next time!
I give Hot Six 4 bookmarks. (
