In Seven Up, Stephanie seems to be running in circles a little more than usual which is kind of distracting. Other than that, it was like all the others, a super fast read with a couple of surprises that you don't see coming. I'm going to have to read the next one really soon because I'm dying to know what happened after that last scene with Stephanie and Ranger. ( )Stephanie Plum deals with very familiar situations..there is an attempt on her life, her cars continue to be casualties of war, her feelings for Morelli are challenged, her feelings for Ranger are still confused, The Plum family are still disfunctional while being normal for Burg standards. This book is very entertaiing and I can not wait to read the eighth book. Boy, I have to say that the longer Stephanie exists, the dumber she gets. I don’t know why I keep reading these things. This one wasn’t very good. You’d think by now that Steph would have learned a thing or two about apprehending FTAs. Nope. She’s still as dopey as ever. Bumbling in and being surprised when people lie, cheat and beat their way out of her grasp. Honestly, dying her hair blonde was the smartest thing she did during the whole book – at least it would serve as a warning to others that they’re dealing with an idiot. And why does Evanovich insist on bringing back the least interesting character??? Dougie and Mooner for heaven’s sake? What happened to Sally Sweet and the little midget guy? At least they had a few brain cells left, unlike the two in this novel. And Ranger is no longer scary, so of course we need Stephanie there to remind us that he still is. No evidence of it however, just her long past memories. Of course they are closer than ever to a tryst of their own. Ranger is making it the payback for helping her on one of her captures, the only way she can make them these days. Really, we haven’t seen Stephanie bring one in on her own in about 3 books now. How the hell does she make it?? And the thing with men breaking into her apartment and making themselves at home is getting a little old now. Same with the destroyed cars. Enough already. Give us some new gags. The bit about the dog Bob taking huge, ghastly, unspeakable dumps on Joyce’s lawn is funny though. Completely over the top, Evanovich does it again. In another crazy adventure, Stephanie Plum is after Eddie Dechooch while dealing with her new lovable pot-head friends who think they're super heroes who are kidnapped along with crazy Grandma Mazur. Not to mention having her recently divorced sister and two girls move back into her parent's small row house and there's a wedding dress waiting for her to decide whether she wants to marry hot cop, on-again off-again boyfriend Joe Morelli or be with the sexy Latino bounty hunter Ranger who she calls in to help with her case. I really love the Stephanie Plum series. The only problem is that I don't remember the plot line from one book to the next. It's just not that memorable. In Seven Up, I like the fact that Mooner and Dougie are still around from Hot Six. Usually, secondary characters do not come back from one book to the next. Easy and enjoyable read overall! ingen anmeldelser | legg inn en anmeldelse

I did look good in the gown. I looked like Scarlett O' Hara getting ready for a big wedding at Tara. I moved around a little to simulate dancing."Jump up and down so we can see how it'll look when you do the bunny hop," Grandma said.
"It's pretty but I don't want a gown," I said.
"I can order one in her size at no obligation," Tina said.
"No obligation," Grandma said. "You can't beat that."
"As long as there's no obligation," my mother said.
I needed chocolate. A lot of chocolate. "Oh gee," I said, "look at the time. I need to go."
To complicate matters further, Stephanie's made a reluctant deal with the devil: if she can't bring in DeChooch by herself, her sexy but dangerous cohort Ranger is willing to help--for a price that a girl who's not-exactly-engaged is uncertain whether she should pay. But when Dougie and Mooner disappear, Grandma is kidnapped, and a crazy widow starts taking pot shots, no one who hides her .38 in a cookie jar is going to turn down a little friendly assistance.
In Seven Up, Janet Evanovich serves up her usual bubbly fare: a totaled car, raucous viewings at Stiva's Funeral Parlor, buffoonish bad guys, and down-and-dirty mud wrestling, all stirred up with some snappy Jersey repartee and a few tart, new twists that will keep her fans impatient. Heaven can't wait for number eight. --Barrie Trinkle
