Recommend this for the humor, not the crime-solving. The murder mystery was light, even for a Plum novel. This was a surprise package in my mailbox. Thanks, sis! It's easy to grasp the appeal of the Plum series, it provides unerring consistency in a time when liitle else remains stable. The characters never change or grow and the events from edition to edition change only by secondary character name.Traipsing through that last six or seven installments, the reader knows ahead of time that the series heroine, Stephanie, will continue to waiver between two men, getting close to humping Ranger while ultimately ending up with Morelli, Lula will continue to be food obsessed and clothes challenged, cars will burn, apprehensions will be blundered, Grandma will hook-up with a transvestite that somehow ends up un the Plum familiy household and an amusing dinner fiasco will ensue. As the series progresses, the risk and danger fades into little more than annoyances. It's not unlike eating a Twinkie; you know what you're in for but if the urge strikes you, bon appitite... Somehow the Plum books stay entertaining. By now I know the formula, but it just hasn't gotten boring, at least not in this book. All the fabulous characters, ridiculous characters, and deliscious Ranger vs. Morelli tension is there. Hilarious - the mystery plays second fiddle to the comedy. Recommended when you need a laugh. If you've read any of the books in this series, then you'd be familiar with the basic plot. Stephanie is a terrible bounty hunter. Her friends are all odd, and almost all of them are packing heat. She has two guys that both lust after her, and her mother is desperate to her married and into a normal job. This was a great installment in the series. For once, it is not Stephanie that all the bad guys are after--they're out to get Lula--and the other main mystery is engaging and has a different approach to its solution. Along the way, it is very funny, and even when the bullets are flying, it is lighthearted fun. A great read for anyone who wants something fun and light. ingen anmeldelser | legg inn en anmeldelse

This was awesome - fun, fast-paced and laugh-out-loud. Lorelei King does a wonderful job narrating (I hear her voice doing Lula and Granny whenever I read the books) and I'd suggest not listening to this while in public. People will stare when you start giggling...
Definitely recommended! (
