Most people will be familiar with this story, and will know why it is a classic. On the other hand, they may have not read the original version with the additional tales and poetry. It was worth reading these, even though the story of Mowgli is certainly the best known story for a good reason! The other tales though show the versatility of the author, and are engaging in their own way ( )

I enjoyed from chapter one to three of this book. But this story got duller and duller from chapter four. I wish this book had been more interesting....

In the jungle of Southern India, there was a human child with wolfs! He was called Mowgli from the wolfs. Especially,Ballo the bear and Bagheera the panther were good friends and teachers for Mowgli. However,Mowgli had an enemy. It is Shere Khan(man-eating tiger). Can Mowgli kill this strong enemy? And finally, which will he like jungle or village?? I think there are many many animals in this book. I have seen this movie made by the Disney.
But,this book is a little different from that movie's story.
There are a few fighting sceans in this book.
I think the best exciting scean is `4.The fight at the rock.`
Mowgli was grown by wolfs, bear and panther,so he went with these animals.
But,he couldn't go with people.
I think it is important for him to live in the place which he can live comfortably. ( )

Mowgli is a man-cub,but he threw in the jungle. He raised by wolves. When he became a man, he join the wolve's meeting. He learn the law of the jungle. The tiger called Shere Khan wanted to kill Mowgli, but Mowgli defeated Shere Khan. Mowgli became a brave man.
I thought Mowgli was a brave boy and pure and clever. Animals which raised and helped him was wonderful. I thought Mowgli was not usually man,so animals admitted him. It was poor that Mowgli was feared by other people.I thought it was cool animals cooperated each other. ( )

A human baby was left in a jungle.
His name is Mowgli.
He lives with wolves happily.
But a tiger,Shere Khan isn't like human beings.
Then a bear,Baloo and a panther,Bagheera manage to take Mowgli to human village.

This original story is different from the story we already know.
I think Mowgli is very brave.
I want Mowgli to have a happy life. ( )

This story is classics. Because the hero of this book is human, Mowgli, who is raised by wolves, a bear and a brack panther. There are different troubles however Mowgli get over them on account of company. Although this story is wonder because such this never happen in really, I think it is a good point of this story. When I read this book, I also wanted to speak languages of animal. Don't miss this book! ( )

Nothing like the Disney movie that we all remember! Great book, even if the white-mans-burden philosophy of the writer is a little hard to take. ( )

I would perhaps have enjoyed this more if I’d discovered it when I was younger. Most of the stories, while well enough written, didn’t really grab me. I did enjoy the parallels between the Mowgli stories and the Graveyard Book. I quite liked the stories of Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, the brave mongoose, and Little Toomai, the boy who saw the elephants dance, although they didn’t leave a strong impression. But I loved the story of The White Seal, I suppose because I did see it as having broader appeal – a nice allegorical tale for those of us who are passionate about any cause, and feel that the people around us are blind to the dangers of current societal trends ... Both Jungle Books contain Mowgli and non-Mowgli stories. The Mowgli stories are fantastic, these would have had a great influence on me if I had read them in my younger days. The remaining stories are animal based as well, and while some are interesting, for the most part these did not hold my interest. ( )

"At last there were only Akela, Bagheera, and perhaps ten wolves that had taken Mowgli´s part. Then something began to hurt Mowgli inside him, as had never hurt in his life before, and he caught his breath and sobbed, and the tears ran down his face.

“What is it? What is it?” he said. “I do not wish to leave the jungle, and I do not know what this is. Am I dying, Bagheera?”

“No, Little Brother. That is only tears such as men use,” said Bagheera. “Now I know thou art a man, and a man´s cub no longer. The jungle is shut indeed to thee henceforward. Let them fall, Mowgli. They are only tears”. So Mowgli sat and cried as though his heart would break; and he had never cried in all his life before.

Rudyard Kiplig. The Jungle Books. "Mowgli's Brothers".

I have seen the movie "The Jungle Book" .
So the scene of this story flashed across my mind.
This story is about a boy in jungle, and he lives with animals helping one another.
The characters of the animals are very attractive.
And the last scene I got excited.
I like this story very much. ( )

This is the story of a human boy who grows up in the jungle with all the animals in the jungle. This is the original version of the story, and it's much darker than the Disney version. I didn't think I would like it, because the idea seemed unbelieavable to me, but it was good, especially the second half. ( )
