Om meg I'm not a voracious reader*, but usually have two or three books going at once, plus I recently started listening to audio books on iPod.
*Ok, thanks to LT I'm now officially A Voracious Reader.

I'm in my fifties and will retire in November when I'll have much more time to read and write.

Interests: music (I'm a singer-songwriter/guitarist and play a bit of electric bass; I LOVE singing harmony and arranging songs), political activism, organic gardening, writing.

My 100 Book Challenge for 2008

My Amazon.com Wish List

========================================...

Om biblioteket mitt My LT library is a combination of books I own, books I've read (some in the distant past and can't remember too much about them, other than I liked them a lot or disliked them a lot) and books on my list to read.

Some tag explanations:

"On my shelf" (fiction and nonfiction separated) = I own it but haven't read it yet and intend to (some day!). Usually, if a book isn't rated, I haven't read it.

"On my list" (fiction and nonfiction separated) = I plan to read it. I've been cruising through a lot of people's libraries and random suggestions since I started my library, so my list of books to read has expanded greatly.

"Watershed" = a book that had a profound effect on me, some even life-changing.

My ratings explained:

1/2 to 2 stars: wouldn't recommend to anyone. 1/2 star is meant to be an insult.
2 1/2 stars: acceptable, probably wouldn't recommend
3 stars: average, might recommend, depending on genre
3 1/2 stars: Pretty good read. I also use this for books I read a long time ago that I know I at least liked but can't recall much about
4 stars: Really good writing, good story, highly recommend.
4 1/2 stars: Darn near perfect.
5 stars: Stunning. Gobsmacked me.

Terri, I did see--but it was somewhat of a hollow victory, I'm afraid, with all the potential multiple voting and questions about how to determine the winner. I wondered myself if counting the pins was really fair . . . if more than one person in, say, Chicago voted, would there be more than one pin? It just seems funny that there was such a large discrepancy between the polls percentages and the number of pins. So I guess it's a good thing that two groups are apparently starting. Now I will REALLY have to commit to participating!

I finished The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox yesterday and loved it.

teelgee -

thanks for your work on the poll - who knew it would become the subject of such nefarious deeds ;-)
Just out of curiosity - you advised me to click on the map ballon near my location to check my recorded vote. The only pin near my home says Plano, TX with a vote for [Midnight'Children]-neither accurate. Without boring the group to tears with my endless queries - does the tally system pick up my url location or is that information I would have told it independently?
Did you see the Delve series from Literary Arts?

I need to sell my house in Eugene in order to afford to register, but I can dream.
I am enjoying your library and your comments. I have found that the only problem with LT is its power to addict - there is nothing more fascinating than exploring books with other equally obsessed book lovers. I look forward to perusing your library more thoroughly for books I may have missed. Thanks for adding me to your favorite library list, too.
Hi,
I am settled in Portland now and so very happy to be home. I went to Norway two weeks ago and it was lovely beyond expectations.
What a beastly hot weekend! Glad this morning is more moderate.
As usual, you have a lovely picture posted.

Hi
I finished Mudbound and found it to be very disturbing. It was well written and I breezed right through it...couldn't put it down. What were your impressions?
Thanks for adding me to your interesting libraries. I saw you read Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day. I’ve been wanting to read it for so long and was really looking forward to it but I see you’ve only given it three stars. Would you still recommend it?
I like your current profile picture--very beautiful!! I'm guessing you took it?
Hey T...I haven't gone entirely. Been lurking mostly...as I avoid packing. I am so horrible...I just hate it so much. *blah* I also haven't been doing much reading so not much to blog about. =(

How goes the recovery?
