as for me well...."she is too fond of books and it has addled her brain"
but it's ok....I like my brains addled
Om biblioteket mittAll the books in the library, I currently own. My library is all over the place, both literally and topically.
I have the constant lament of "not enough bookshelves"
A large portion of my library still resides in boxes and bookshelves in upstate NY. Those books are not currently cataloged, but hope to be some day. In the still of the night I can hear the faint, far off skitterings of books being ignored.
The Tags are fairly self explainatory, tags of R07/R08 etc indicate books read for that year - tags of Box A, B ..etc indicate internal storage locations

You have spoken the answer.
A child searches far sometimes
Into the red dust
On a dark rose leaf
And so you have gone far
For the answer is:
Silence.
In the republic
Of the winking stars and spent cataclysms
Sure we are it is off there the answer
is hidden and folded over,
Sleeping in the sun, careless whether
it is Sunday or any other day of
the week,
Knowing silence will bring all one way
or another.
Have we not seen
Purple of the pansy
out of the mulch
and mold
crawl
into a dusk
of velvet?
blur of yellow?
Almost we thought from nowhere but it was
the silence,
the future,
working.

We'll, " Life as we knew it" is about a family of 4 (a daughter, a mother, and 2 boys) & it's an ordinary day, when they all hear on the news, that an asteroid will be seen in the sky thus the whole family goes outside with treats and what not, exited to see the clip of this. However, what they don't know is that the asteroid hits the earth and everything is completely different. I will save the rest of the scoop; I don't want to ruin it for you. I think you should definitely go to your local library/libraries and maybe try to find this book. You’ll love it, just like I have. Trust me, it was so good that everyday, I just couldn’t stop reading; I mean, on and on I read haha. Yupp, it’s a good book. Actually noo, it’s not good, IT’S AMAZING!

Was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Saw you liked Butcher Boy, and I thought you might like my novel since it's also about a disturbed adolescent and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

I'm a huge Robin Hobb fan & I just noticed that you're into the liveships trilogy (which is my fave of her trilogies), I'd love to know what you think, I'm always interested to see if others are as impressed by her sux duchies books as I am & if she made you want to strangle certain characters too, lol.
Enjoy & take care!

Yep, I am a Cadfael fan from way back. In fact, when I was teaching a course on the rhetoric of history, I used the first one as an example of how history can be used in fiction. The kids had a great time reading it!
