Om meg Introduction To Me:
I'm married and mother of three grown children. I work as quality auditor for a home health agency and as administrator for our family-based concrete contracting company. You can usually find me auditing nursing records, browsing the LibraryThing fora, bookcrossing, buying used books, cooking organic vegetables, drinking coffee, eating chocolate, editing my CSA Newsletter, feeding 3 feral cats, or reading (not necessarily at the same time). In the past, I have been called "the Johnny Appleseed of books". :)
My Personal Book Challenges:
1. Kingsolver 1 - to read Animal, Vegetable, Miracle slowly during my first year as Newsletter editor of my synagogue's CSA (community-supported agriculture)
2. 50 Book Challenge - to read 50 books within the year of 2008 (I'm lagging behind on this challenge)
3. 888 Challenge - to read 8 books in 8 different categories
4. Aspenwood 100 - to help the librarian of an assisted living community exchange 100 books (older unread books for newer hardback copies of more popular books)
5. Hdgorin 1,000 - to help my rabbi catalogue and shelve a book collection of over 1,000 books for his own special project - (completed 07/15/2008)

My Reading Preferences:
I like both fiction and non-fiction. I prefer English translations of foreign (especially Middle Eastern or Asian) novels and books by lesser known authors. I'm attracted to matte-covered trade paperbacks as they seem more exotic than other books somehow.

Notable Quote:
“The writer who shuts himself up in a room and first goes on a journey inside himself will, over the years, discover literature's eternal rule: he must have the artistry to tell his own stories as if they are other people's stories, and to tell other people's stories as if they were his own, for this is what literature is.” (Orhan Pamuk, 2006 Nobel acceptance speech)

Saw you had one of my books, and I thought I'd introduce myself. I love how eclectic your reading is.

I answered your email to me but it came back to me, and I truly don't know what I should have done to get it too you. I was relieved that you thought to leave me a comment in LT - I wish I had thought of that method.
I will apologize for the group - and look forward to hearing how to do that.
I am sorry, and thank you.
