Hi, thanks for telling me how much you like my profile pic. I really can't remember where I found it but as a faery fan I tend to gather gorgeous pics of them from all over the web. May I also say that I am loving your library. What a wonderful collection of books.

Yeah I know what you mean about the writing,but consider the time. For a women to even smoke a cigarett was wild behavior.They were Victorian in more ways than one and I just consider that as ancient history,these days I think I'm being wild if I drink more than one beer.I still think it would have made a better movie than the one they made. Recently I read the new Frankenstein by Dean Kootz,all three books and it was a real kick. I'm still not sure Kootz is from this planet.Later,S

You're right about Dracula,easy to read but it reminds me of Sherlock Holmes stories.The book list is huge but a few are Where Angels fear to thread by E.M Forester and The Autumn of the Patriarch by Gabriel Marquez and an interesting book published in 1947 called Proud Destiny by Lion Feuchtwanger,how's that for a name? At that time,he already had 18 books published so I'll be interested to see what his style is like. There's over 200 books in the pile so it may take me awhile to get a handle on it. In the meantime,I keep reading and wishing they had made the movie more like the book. I never could figure out where Van Helsing came from and now I know. Later, S

Well that's just really weird,I too am reading Dracula,spooky man,I was cleaning up the barn for an upcoming project and came across three boxes of books that are collections from old roommates and me from an earlier life and in that found Stokers Dracula and an original paperback of War of the Worlds,original price: 50 cents! Anyway,yes,Dracula is amazing,I can't remember if I had read it before but I don't think so.Needless to say I won't be buying any books for awhile unless Barnes and Nobles calls and blames the recession on me.Later,S

I see you have a Ruth Downie Medicus novel, I have the first one, or at least I think it's the first one. I'd read a review awhile back and it looked as though it was historically accurate, and your review confirms that.

Howdy Miss V, I've been suffering from lbs(lousy book syndrome),no,not really,but sort of. Last time I came back from the Crusades I launched into a pile that my neighbor left me and the only one that emerged as a keeper was the Poisonwood Bible,I consider it a masterpiece despite the reviewers take on it. I went to the fort at Goliad one time and the feeling there was so bad,I left as soon as possible. The Mexican army waited til the Texans surrendered then executed every one of them, it still feels creepy even now. Well it's late, it was nice to hear from you,S

Thank you for taking an interest in my little library. I am happy you found something worth your while. The Mitford sisters are fascinating to me. I haven't read much on them yet, but have several books about them that I want to read. I have been doing too much shopping and not enough reading, if you know what I mean. Kind of like my "plate being bigger than my tummy" sort of thing.

Hey...You may not remember me but I had to leave you a message thanking you for recommending a book. I had mentioned in the new year that I read Marley and Me. You told me that I would probably enjoy All My Patients Are Under The Bed. Funny thing is. I recently moved and started cataloging my books on LT. While going through my books I found that I already had a copy of this book that you had recommended. How lucky is that? I just started it but really enjoying it. Thanks a million.

Hi, Velma!
Thanks so much for the recommendation of books in Spanish. Yes, my daughter is always looking for some good titles. And she has recently started working at the Latin American Library on campus at school, so she has great access to books in Spanish. Right now she is studying in Spain, so maybe she can find some while she is there.
I am sorry that I took so long to write back. I have been out of town. But as fun as it is to travel, it is also fun to return to my own bed!! Thanks again so much for the recommendation. Have a great day!

Oh good, glad Garden Spells arrived. I meant to send you a message to let you know I'd sent it media mail w/out a note or card. I hope you enjoy it, I'll be interested to hear your take on it.

I hope the storm doesn't cause damage for you; glad to hear you're inland away from the worst of it. I'm concerned - sounds like we might lose another city, Galveston. I have a sister in Houston, she's a ways north and hunkered down, we're keeping in touch.

Oh! I forgot to say that I really like the fact that the 77 books we share form an eclectic collection by themselves. I often see that the books I share with another library are all on one subject, and I find that boring.

Yes I saw that Kinsella had been picked for me. I'll have to get it from the library now before it closes for renovation!

I was not sure if it was ok to put two books in the post for GRTB. I know you wanted Mathew Reilly but I couldnt see it on your list. I was kinda hoping someone would pick rollins for me to so I would have my excuse to pick it up before the other books I have to read LOL. Your TBR pile though was huge! makes mine of about 10 books look really sad.

Well I took a crack at GRTB and coincidentally I got you! Hopefully I did it right. Which Mathew Reilly book did you get? The only ones of his I haven't read are the ones on my librarything marked TBR and Ice Station which is the very first of his Shane Schofield series which is strange I know but I though originally it was a standalone book like Temple and I could read it when ever but then realised while reading Area 7 I had missed something. Lucky it was only one book and it didn't make a big difference. Keith has read all of them and loves them.

Hi Velma -- I'd be happy to send along my copy of Garden Spells. I bought it cheap at Goodwill (thank goodness). You may feel very different about it than I did - it sure got rave reviews on LT! I had just finished one of the best books of the year, so the bar was set pretty high.

Hi Kirconnell

Glad to hear your mum is out of hospital now. I still havent worked out GRTB just yet and to be honest I have been far to busy planning my holiday. Its getting close now only 3 weeks to go and this time in 3 weeks I will be in Singapore!

Anyway back to GRTB do I have to pick the last person posted or can I just say "Kirconnell I choose you?"?

Ok gonna scurry off to bed so I can read The Tower which has gotten really interesting :)

You're dead-on with the picture guess - it's in the Great White Desert in central Egypt. Definitely the most desolate and probably the most beautiful place I've ever been; if you find yourself in the area, I can recommend some Bedouin guides!

Anyhow, enjoy reading, I'm looking forward to the review.

Add away, kirconnell - I certainly don't mind. My wishlist has gotten E-NORMOUS since joining LT - and I love it. And thank you for the welcome to the Go Review That Book! group. I only stumbled upon it this last Thursday and knew when I realized what it was all about that I had to be part of it. I really like giving the control over some of my choices to someone else and then having to write a review. It makes me feel more disciplined - something I could use more of. Now I must go and post an ER review, add you to my interesting libraries (ok?) and then - start the book carlym picked out for me.
