Om meg
(credit for above image goes to Akatari)

I'm 20 yrs old, and I want to be a published author someday and own a sanctuary for abused/unwanted/hurt animals of all kinds. Right now, however, I'm just trying to keep my head above water in this crazy game of life.

I love books, all kinda of books. I'm particularly attached to YA books, books that are technically below my reading level but are so good that I can't be bothered to think about that fact (ie Nancy Drew, Sweet Valley, etc). I have many random books but I've realized I don't usually buy random books unless someone has recommended it or it's on a subject I completely love. I usually stick with my tried-and-true authors and series.

I have piles of books that I need/want to get rid of, and am in the process of adding them to my new BookMooch account... Hopefully people will want them!

Om biblioteket mitt While this catalogue started out only for books I actually own, I quickly became pulled in to the point where it now includes all the books I own, plus my favorite library books, plus books I read and liked but no longer have.

(updated Oct. 22nd) Aaaaand now I'm entering books that I've recently received from BookMooch but haven't read. I now have a To Be Read tag! I never thought I'd do that! *shiftylook*

I have gone through most of my boxes full of books and catalogued them, but this library still grows bigger, and I love how my catalogue is looking as I enter more and more books.

Saw the book you are reviewing on child sexual abuse. I work in a domestic violence shelter, just wondering if it was informative and something I should look into for our clients.

Have you posted your review yet?
(I'm new to this, so not sure how everything works yet.)
Thanks
Thank you. I wil make the changes.
I read your review of the Disinformation Book of Lists.

So... when're you going to be giving me your copy? ;P

*evil laugh*

Anyway, I thought of Lurlene McDaniel the other day. You are explicably connected in my brain to her name.
Hi
I'm reserving them for you on BM as 2 for 1. Check your email. My BM username is anyanka2.

I hate when libraries move things around!

Your ferret is cute.
Hi heather :-)
I'm not sure....

I read Keeping You A Secret a while ago--maybe two years? And Far From Xanadu I read about a year ago.

Have you read Luna, too? And Define Normal?
Re your post "and the books I don't want my mom to see go together in a special place"

I used to have that issue. I asked my grandparents for a foot locker for christmas, and I got one. It had a key and everything. Absolutely essential for reading what you're not supposed to be... :)
Okay,

I will do that. I knew that they weren't exactly reviews but it seemed to me to be a handy place to store series information.
Hi Heather--

Re: your Calvin and Hobbes thank you--You're welcome! Always glad to share a bit of trivia with a neighbor.

Heather, your NaNo link doesn't work for me. The one on my profile page doesn't work either. I've emailed Tim about it and Abby's working on it.... BTW is your username on NaNo the same?
Hi! See, here I am!!!
I'm glad to hear it! :D
Heather, I saw some Sweet Valley books for $1 each at a book sale today and I thought of you! I hope you're managing to rebuild your collection!
Thank you. Owning a second-hand bookshop would be a magnificent way for me to go bankrupt!
LOL! I forgot that I had my BookMooch account on my profile here. Nothing is random chance anymore!
That Ann Rule book you just mooched on BM....that was me! :)
Hi, Heather,

I'm sorry to take this long to respond to your very kind comments; we just got back from a long vacation. Anyway, I'm glad to know you liked my reviews, and I enjoyed looking over your library. It's always nice to meet another comic-strip afficiando; sometimes it seems like it's only folks from my generation that appreciate them.

Heather: I'm so sorry about your grandfather's books. Isn't it incredible how thoughtless some people can be?
Hi Heather! :)

Thanks so very much for your comment - very sweet of you. It always puts a bright smile on my face to read comments from others on my page. What a day brightener! *smile* You know that Nancy Drew habit of yours could be quite profitable in the end, those books can sell for a bundle should you ever be inclined to sell them. I know I've been holding onto my YA collection of like titles in my collection for that reason among others.

*chuckle*

Well, that and the fact that I, like you, can't bear to part with them. It pains me to get rid of any books unless I already have a second copy or (very very rarely) really don't like the book and then it's no problem to part with it. But that really only happens about once a blue moon or so as it really takes a lot for me not to want to hold onto a book and keep it in my collection. However, it looks like we share a good collection of books, so I'm sure you know how that is.

Thanks for the comment again. :)
Much bliss & happy reading!

From one Nancy Drew, SVH, and babysitter club fan, I just stopped by to say, "Hi!!"
The book that I wrote that about was the graphic novel adaptation of "The Truth About Stacey". That book and also "Kristy's Great Idea" have been adapted into graphic novels by Raina Telgemeier, published by Graphix (which is an imprint of Scholastic publishing). I believe there's a third one expected out sometime in the next year (though I couldn't tell you which one!). If you're a BSC fan, I'd recommend checking them out. I found that both were pretty faithful to the original stories.
Even better (re: the # of books we share)! :)

I know what you mean about the restrictions of how many books you can have in your catalog. I finally gave in and paid the whole fee, because after a couple weeks of adding books, I realized I'd reached 200 a lot quicker than I'd expected. :)

Oh yeah, there are tons of BSC books, especially if you include the spin-off series: Baby-sitters Little Sister, California Diaries, etc.
Cool, we share similar tastes in kids books--22 so far. :) Happy reading!
